An interest in video features
The majority of companies have a board portal meeting platform they can use for meetings, with larger companies more likely to have the technology: 65 percent of small-cap respondents have portals, compared with 71 percent of those at mid-caps, 83 percent at large caps and 93 percent at mega-caps.
Many respondents express satisfaction with their board portal but when asked what feature, if any, they wish their portal had to tackle the current environment, their answers frequently include a video option.
‘Videoconferencing’
‘Able to host meeting within board portal’
‘A polling/survey feature – particularly for polling member availability for meetings or other matters where we would like all members to benefit from all responses. Obtaining approval signatures securely through the portal would be a benefit as well. Other than that, we find our portal adequate and easy to navigate’
‘Better communication between attendees, possibility to have some additional help in drafting minutes and the agenda for future meetings’
‘Dashboard-type layout for the home page’
‘Video platform’
‘I wish the process of uploading, editing and adding board and committee materials was easier’
‘Ability to use a pointer (stylus) when presenting from the portal’
‘Better information update section’
‘Audio/videoconferencing capability’
‘One portal for storing and accessing materials as well as for conducting videoconferencing’
‘Better sharing of information’
‘Ability to update select pages in board materials rather than having to swap out entire files as some materials are changing up until the meeting’
‘Improved email functionality’
‘The ability to have a couple of different rooms where attendees could be waiting to join or waiting for the next meeting, and the ability to just then switch to the next meeting seamlessly’
‘Easier navigation so I do not have to go through page by page to find the information I am looking for’
‘Complete digital workflow’
‘A way to host videoconferencing so we don’t have to use two platforms’
