Linking training to compensation
A majority (63 percent) of respondents say their company does not link ethics and/or employee compliance training to compensation. At companies that do link training to pay, the most common response (45 percent) is that this applies to all employees, followed by 29 percent who say it applies to executives only and 26 percent who say it applies to management only.
Mid-cap companies are least likely to link compensation to ethics and/or employee compliance training, at 74 percent of respondents, compared with 65 percent of small caps, 53 percent of large caps and just over a third (35 percent) of mega-caps.
Almost a third (31 percent) of those at mega-cap companies do not know if such links exist, whereas just 12 percent of those at small caps do not know.
Geographically, the numbers reporting no link between compensation and employee compliance training is fairly consistent, at 68 percent in Canada, 63 percent in the US and 61 percent in Europe.
