The work behind the wins
Welcome to this report on Corporate Secretary’s 15th annual Corporate Governance Awards. In this special publication, we celebrate the work carried out by winners of the awards and hear how they successfully approach some of the key corporate governance challenges that face members of the profession.
The awards were presented at a ceremony in New York – the first time it had been possible to do so in person since 2019 – and it was a memorable occasion for those in attendance. The gala capped two days of live events hosted by Corporate Secretary: The M&A Forum and the Corporate Secretary Forum.
The Corporate Governance Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of the governance profession in hosting AGMs, compliance and ethics programs, ESG reporting, entity management, use of technology, proxy statements, investor engagement and corporate transactions. This year, a total of 45 separate companies were short-listed for their tremendous work. Their efforts are, as always, a testament to the governance community.
On behalf of Corporate Secretary, I’d like to thank everyone who spent time and effort to create and submit nominations. They highlight the efforts that so many across the community make to maintain high standards of corporate governance.
I’d also like to extend special thanks to the judges, who devote a great deal of time and thought to analyzing the short lists and choosing the winners. Our panel this year consisted of Prabha Sipi Bhandari, Joan Conley, Lucy Fato, Matthew Geekie, Stephen Giove and Eileen Kamerick. You can find out more about them here.
