Sponsors statement
A company’s value largely derives from the endeavors of the individuals who work within and alongside it. All a company’s personnel decisions, from the selection of senior management to labor practices within its supply chain, fall under the rather impersonal term of human capital management (HCM). The past few years have seen an increased investor interest in HCM, while the effect of Covid-19 has highlighted the importance of the working environment.
This report looks at what this means for investor relations, how investors are engaging with HCM issues and the extent to which this is changing. It further studies how to report on HCM and what topics are of particular interest, both within the company and in the supply chain. The findings in this report come from two surveys conducted in the second half of 2020. IR Magazine’s Global IR Survey in Q3 2020 researched IR professionals, while the investment community side was investigated in IR Magazine’s Global Investor Survey, conducted in Q4 2020. Data in this report is broken down by region, job title for investor responses and company size for corporate responses. Market cap sizes are defined as follows:
SMALL CAP – UNDER $1 BN MID-CAP – $1 BN TO UNDER $5 BN LARGE CAP – $5 BN TO UNDER $30 BN MEGA-CAP – $30 BN AND OVER
