Globally, 28 percent of challenges mentioned by IROs relate to internal corporate issues. A quarter of these challenges are concerned with management issues such as senior management personnel, involvement in IR and investor access. A further quarter relate to IR resources and the remaining half deal with other company-related issues such as company performance, crisis management and corporate transactions. Company-related IR challenges are more important in North America and Europe than in Asia, where just 12 percent of mentions relate to these issues. Just under a quarter of challenges identified by IR professionals at smaller companies are corporate-related, compared with just under a third among IROs at larger companies. Much of this difference is due to the greater concern at larger companies regarding IR resources.
