The issue of executive compensation is seen as important to both company performance and investor engagement. As identified in this report, around seven in 10 investors consider executive pay as part of their investment thesis.This report looks at the issue of executive compensation, particularly with regard to investor relations. We investigate how much attention investors focus on executive pay, how this has changed in recent years and whether there have been any changes in executive compensation as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The report also examines the value of linking executive compensation to company performance and ESG metrics. We further detail how decisions on executive pay are communicated to investors and what investor expectations are with regard to such communications.Findings in this report are from research undertaken in the IR Magazine Global Investor Survey conducted in Q4 2021 and the IR Magazine Global IR Survey conducted during Q4 2021 and Q1 2022.
