The global median salary for IR heads is $200,000, with exactly 50 percent earning up to $199,999 and the other half earning $200,000 or above. Just under a third of IR heads earn upwards of $250,000 a year. This is an increase from two years ago, when the median salary for IR heads fell in the $150,000 to $199,999 pay bracket. The global median salary for IROs is in the range $75,000 to $99,999. More than a quarter earn below $50,000 while one in five earns $150,000 or more. This is the same median salary range for IROs as two years ago. In fact, median IRO salaries have remained in the same pay bracket for the past five years. The nine in 10 IR heads who were rewarded with a bonus last year received an average of 37 percent of their base salary. Fewer IROs received a bonus and when they did it was an average of 28 percent of their salary, 9 percentage points below the level of bonus their bosses received.
