IR challenges
The proportion of challenges relating to internal corporate affairsin 2022 is 28 percent, the same as found in 2020 before the Covid-19pandemic. The share is only slightly down for 2023, where internal related anticipated challenges account for 26 percent of mentions.There has been a notable reduction in the emphasis on capitalmarkets-related challenges identified here compared with our pre-pandemic research. This is led by a fall in investor-related ratherthan market-related concerns, with such challenges dropping from28 percent of mentions in 2020 to 18 percent in 2022 and 19 percentfor 2023.The rise in concerns over macroeconomics is the most significantdevelopment. These challenges account for a fifth of mentions in2022 and further rise to a quarter of anticipated challenges in theyear ahead. This compares with just 14 percent of mentions in 2020.One in 10 mentions for 2022 relate to investor meetings and events,while Covid still accounts for 4 percent of mentions, dropping tojust 1 percent for 2023.
